Best Places to Visit in Paris

PARIS, the city of love!  Paris has been on my bucket list for quite some time and I finally crossed it off my list.  This city is one of the most gorgeous, romantic places I’ve ever been and there are so many things to look forward to when visiting Paris. Here are the best places to visit in Paris:

FOOD AND DRINKS

For breakfast, I’d recommend Holybelly, everything on the menu was delicious. I had to wait in line for a few minutes but it’s definitely worth the wait. Next, I’d recommend Plaza Athenee. I wanted to try this restaurant after watching the cast of Million Dollar Listing (one of my fave shows) explore Paris in one of their episodes. This restaurant is quite expensive but I like the dining experience and people watching at this hotel. If you love fashion, there are plenty to look at. It was practically a runway.

For lunch, I tried the madame croque which was amazing at Cafe Palais Royale located across from the Louvre.  Be sure to sit outside for the Paris’ cafe experience.   For dinner, I enjoyed the casual food in the Montmartre area at Dufrenoy Rotisserrie.  This is a little bit away from the tourist area and the food were quick bites but ohhh so good.  Try the sausage!

For cocktail lovers, I would absolutely recommend going to Experimental Cocktail Club. I love this place so much that I went in two out of the three nights I was in Paris. haha! My favorite cocktail was the Old Cuban, although the bartenders informed me that they change the menu quite often.  Either way, you MUST get a drink here.

SIGHTSEE

I feel like the entire city is practically a vision in itself.  First, the Eiffel Tower is a given. Everyone knows about this architecture and it’s even better in person.  My first time seeing the tower felt surreal. I recommend coming here during the day and at night. My travel tip is to go near midnight as the tower sparkles at 12am. I also recommend getting drinks in the patio of Cafe de l’Homme, the view of the Eiffel Tower and champagne, two best combo! I love this place!

Second, the Louvre is a must see museum in Paris and I recommend buying the tickets ahead of time especially in the summer.  This museum is so big it is easy to spend a full day, even weeks here.  Of course, you have to see the Mona Lisa.

Third, the Notre Dame Cathedral is one of the iconic catholic churches in my opinion and its architecture is so unique. How did they build this years ago? Fear not, there is a history guide inside the church.  It just as gorgeous on the inside as it is on the outside and the best part about it is that, it is free of charge.  YESSSSS!

Fourth, the Sacre-Coeur has one of the best view in the city as it is situated on top of the Montmarte area.  This is another catholic church in Paris and the view of Paris from the top is unbelievable.  You have to see it for yourself!

Fifth, if you’re a soccer fan, try to catch a game or two at the Stade de France. I was lucky enough to catch a game while visiting Paris (world cup qualifier between France and Netherlands).  It was such a fun experience as you are immersed with the fans rooting for their country.  Another great way to feel the vibrancy of Paris is to take the train after the game to your destination.

Sixth, I’d recommend watching a Moulin Rouge show.  It’s about 2 1/2 hours and I swear it seemed like it was only 1/2 hour, I wanted more!  You will be seated next to people you don’t know unless you are in a big group so just socialize. The ticket package also comes with champagne if you chose to do so.

Seventh, for you ladies out there, go to  Champs-Elysees  and the Arc de Triomphe. There are plenty of shops, cafes, and luxury stores along with the magnificent Arc de Triomphe monument. It’s not a bad day to spend a few hours walking around Paris.  For the guys out there, in the Champs Elysees, there is an area where you can rent out a Ferrari to drive around Paris!  Win-win!

HOTEL

I stayed at the Maison Soquet and I absolutely LOVE this place.  There are only 20 rooms total in this hotel and each one is unique.  The smell of the hotel (buy their candle to take home!), the red carpets, fancy decorations, hermes bath products, warm comfy robes, and the impeccable service, etc. make this hotel one of the best places to stay in Europe.  In addition, the hotel is near restaurants and the Moulin Rouge so it is in a good location as well.  I just LOVE LOVE this place!
