Best Places to Visit in Nassau
Whenever someone mentioned the Bahamas, I have always pictured pristine beaches, warm weather, basically the perfect beach vacation. I went to the Bahamas in Sept 2018 and it was everything I envisioned. I’m actually super obsessed with the place and I highly suggest everyone to experience it and add it to their bucket list. Here are the best places to visit in Nassau, Bahamas:
FOOD
The Bahamas is one of those vacation destinations I’ve been in where I could not think of a place where I had bad food. Yes, it’s possible! First, you MUST go to CLEO. It’s a Mediterranean restaurant and you cannot go wrong with any choices. I had the filet mignon and shrimp kebabs, haloumi cheese saganaki and flourless chocolate cake. Nom nom!
Second, if you like sushi, you have to experience Katsuya Baha Mar. It’s similar to Katsuya in Los Angeles if you’ve been. The food were fresh and delicious! I had the miso marinated black cod, popcorn rock shrimp, rock shrimp tempura sushi, and of course, a bunch of drinks! haha
Third, I like having a variety of food while on vacation so I tried their Mexican restaurant, specifically, tacos! Check out Costa, a restaurant in Rosewood Baha Mar. The restaurant itself had such a calming vibe, the surrounding view is gorgeous and it just feels relaxing. Of course, I had to order carne asada tacos and a mango margarita. Yum!
Fourth, when I arrived in Nassau, I had asked the driver on the way to my hotel about the must see places in the Bahamas. He suggested I must go to the fish fry area to experience the real Bahamas and see where the locals eat. I did just that and ate at Frankie Gone Bananas. Honestly, if I had more time in the Bahamas, I would absolutely go back here. The price was reasonable and the food was soooo good! I had the conch salad, lobster and rice. Delicious!
THINGS TO DO
When I go on vacation, especially a beach vacation, I do just that…I love to lay out by the beach, drink margaritas or champagne, eat then repeat! If you are staying at the Baha Mar area, there is a Baha Mar casino and a club called Bond Nightclub. I recommend going to Bond after midnight since that’s when clubgoers start showing up. It was really fun! Also, if you want to save money, drink in your room and buy a few when you get there as it is super expensive, over $20 per drink!
Travel tip: If you want to save money and not spend over $15 per drink in the resort, call the Flying Dutchman Liquor Store. They deliver for free for a minimum purchase of $50. This is so WORTH it. A $50 purchase would be like 2 1/2 drinks at these resorts. I wish someone told me they deliver for FREE. I spent $80 for the taxi ride to go to the actual store and I found out from the employees that they deliver. haha! Another option for you wine lovers out there is to bring an extra luggage and purchase wine ahead of time, check out wine.com.
HOTEL
I stayed at the SLS Baha Mar. The area actually has 3 resorts in one which includes SLS, Grand Hyatt and Rosewood. SLS feels more young and hip. The rooms are all white and modern and each room has a balcony overlooking the ocean. There are so many pools around the resort. I cannot even tell you how many pools there are as the 3 hotels share them. In SLS, there is a specific pool/bar for over 21+ which is amazing if you don’t want kids around. I absolutely recommend staying here if you go to Nassau. As a bonus, the round trip transportation to/from airport is included in the hotel rate.
Overall, I love my vacation in the Bahamas and I would go here anytime! If you’ve been to the Bahamas, tell me your recommendations below…

Love any tropical place honestly! We were actually so close to visiting Nassau last year but decided for a different destination. Will keep these in mind when we travel next time.
