Best Places to Brunch in San Diego
I love San Diego. I’m so glad this is the place I’ve called home for over six years. As you may know, there are so many things to do here from surfing to hiking. If you’re like me, I like finding great places to eat including a great brunch spot. So let’s talk about food, shall we? Here are the best places to brunch in San Diego:
RUSTIC ROOT–This place is located in the Gaslamp area or you might say downtown. I used to be obsessed with their lobster cobb salad but they took it out of their menu! I’d say order the lobster roll…it is delicious. Rustic Root is famous for day drinking or party vibe while you brunch particularly on the weekends. I’ve seen so many bachelorette parties, birthday parties…at this point, just any kind of parties! haha. Also, be sure to pick the rooftop area since it has the cooler vibe than downstairs.
SEARSUCKER–This place is timeless I feel like. It’s located in the Gaslamp area again and it’s been popular since I’ve moved here over six years ago. I typically order the unlimited mimosas. I suggest getting the steak and eggs or you can’t go wrong with a Searsucker burger. If you like to be around Gaslamp and near the party spots, I’d pick this place as it is across from Barleymash and near American Junkie, two known sports bar in the area.
HERB & WOOD–This place is similar to Searsucker but it’s in the Little Italy area of San Diego. The place is open and grand. As such, this is my fave brunch place in SD. The bar is in the middle of the restaurant where people mingle. I absolutely love the food here. My favorite was the lobster hash (see picture below). The food was unbelievably sooo good as well as their drinks! This is a bit pricey but so worth it.
KING & QUEEN CANTINA--This place is in Little Italy as well across from Craft and Commerce. I must admit I just recently stumbled across this place while looking for a dinner spot on a Monday night. Their servers were so cool and told me to come back on the weekends for brunch as it’s usually crowded and people are just ready to party. I did just that and they were definitely right. When I arrived, I could barely get a table as the place was super packed.
I recommend ordering the margarita flight which consists of different flavors of margaritas and the tinga (chicken) taquitos. This place even has shrimp wrapped in bacon. So delicious! Additionally, you can’t go wrong with any drink on their menu.
Overall, San Diego has a lot of places to eat especially for brunch. The weather makes it perfect to have brunch outside or in a rooftop of a restaurant. Try these out and let me know what you think, comment below.
